No eggnog for me. It's just not my thing, although if someone offered it to me, I'd be polite and accept it.
No cocktails either. I tend to drink my booze as it is, to be honest. Straight scotch, cold beer, white wine and dry sherry, room temperature red wine. All those delicious and delightful liqueurs ( Frangelico, Amaretto, Sambuca, Drambuie,Amarula, etc.) are usually consumed after a meal; especially a heavy meal, and usually with ice.
Right now, it's an ice cold pilsen, because I'm going to watch some football.

I always laugh a little whenever I watch any TV show set in the Edwardian period. The younger set will announce they’re trying “this wonderful new trend…cocktails! What a silly name! But they’re positively the thing!” - and all the while, the old farts are looking on all aghast, like it’s the end of civilization.

The internet says red wine with a little simple syrup is a good substitute for sweet vermouth, or a fortified wine, like a port or a sherry.

Nah! I'll try anything new, and it will probably taste good. I just can't be faffed to make it.

I've been struggling to find a decent black stout (still looking). Whilst we were at the memorial on Friday this company was recommended to us. It was just up the road. You take your own bottle and they fill it, but not knowing about it, we had to settle for cans.

Sadly their season for black or dark ales is over, and they only had 1 black stout in cans but that is a milk stout, so I can't have it.

But I did spot this red IPA which is really nice.
