Which food or dish are you afraid to try?

A 80 - 90 % drop in stock levels means fishing for them is restricted. Or at least it is on paper.
In realty I can go into the supermarket section in El Corte Ingles in Spain buy baby eels (angulas).
Tbh I don’t really understand why they are allowed still to sell them, decimating immature stock for something that at best tastes meh seems wrong.

But unfortunately as soon as something becomes rare demand increases and it becomes worth poaching and a black market springs up. It has in Spain.

Check out the price per kilo on these things, it’s unbelievable.

So yer when I travel to Spain Eel and baby Eels are definitely something I avoid eating.

I've had them over here in the twopics. Nothing to write home about, I'd say.
I had steak tartare once..... that won't happen again.
Yep, it's a bit of an acquired taste, isn't it? I've eaten the Lebanese/Middle eastern version, which is raw kibbe.
Still - we all love carpaccio (don't we?) and that's raw.

Yer there really is nothing to them. Not even a great texture 🤷‍♀️
