wholemeal shortcrust pastry

I saw on another thread that @SatNavSaysStraightOn makes her own pastry and it was wholemeal. Whenever I make wholemeal pastry it is always hard and chewy and not very nice. she said gets was amazingly soft and really nice despite being vegan.

I was wondering because I need a vegan recipe or two for all pastry not just wholemeal shortcrust pastry if anyone has any good recipes please?
 
I'll try to find some time over the next few days or early next week to write it up for you. But one trick I have learnt the hard way is never to reroll unless you want tougher chewier pastry, so I cook the cut offs and give them to my chickens which they love. Sadly it does mean there is waste... but I also accept that sometimes it is just going ot be chewier on one or two pasties. That's just the way it works really!
