Clean the fridge out night. Greens, mushrooms au gratin with a beefy pasta using left over steak.

It is really cold outside (21F/-6C), so it seemed like a good day to make a pot of chili. Semi-authentic Texas Red. It uses very coarsely ground beef, and has diced tomatoes in it, but no beans. The dominate flavor was from dried chilis (ancho and chipotle), rehydrated and made into a paste in the mini food processor. The tomatoes added a little sweetness.

No cornbread today, either. Just corn tortilla chips.
