What did you cook or eat today (September 2023)?

So just the strawberry, lemongrass, ginger and mint soup for "evening meal".

This soup has grown on both of us and my OH has asked for it again just with more ginger and lemongrass next time!

So that and popcorn were our evening meal.
 
The other thing about that meal last night…when we got home and I unpacked the giant bag of food she gave us, I had to laugh in spite of everything.

All the boxes were the same size, the size that would hold a Big Mac.

First box: cream puff
Second box: soft pretzel wadded up to fit
Third box: reuben squished in to fit
Fourth box: half of my mett sandwich
Fifth box: other half of my met sandwich
Sixth box: a random squirt of mustard
 
Here’s my roughly-handled hot mett from yesterday (with kraut, peppers, onions, and mustard)…which wasn’t a hot mett at all, just a standard mett:

Still good, though. A locally-made mettwurst, hot or otherwise, is probably my favorite (non-breakfast) sausage.
 
2 cuppas here with biscuits. Nothing cooked yet but leg lamb prepped for tomorrow. Middle eastern style with sumac in yoghurt. Smells delicious. In an oven bag until tomorrow
