This is so amusing. It reminds me of a competition which newspapers used to run, where you had an image of a football match with the ball removed - you had to guess where the ball was. Here is my guess:

I'm in Saffron Walden all on my own in my friend's house - he arrives tomorrow. I went for a lovely walk around Bridge End Gardens:

Caper flower, growing by the roadside on my way back from the village this morning - a 5 mile yomp up 800 feet above sea level, then back down again. Tomorrow I will take a bag with me and pick some berries.

Lunch yesterday was at a quiet beach shack restaurant at a secluded bay miles from anywhere. The fishing boat in the picture had caught lunch earlier in the morning - whitebait, almost as big as sardines. Too big really - the bones anyway.

Eating the whole thing, bones and all, is easy with the usual UK sized 1" long ones. These were all 2" - 4" long, too small to fillet but too big for the bones not to be a problem. The meat on them was worth the pain though!
