chilli/chili/chile pepper powder
Chilli peppers (of all colours) are widely used in many cuisines as a spice to add pungent 'heat' to dishes.
Chilli (pepper) powder (also spelled chile, chili, or, alternatively, powdered chili) is the dried, pulverized fruit of one or more varieties of chilli pepper. It is used as a spice (or spice blend) to add pungency (piquancy) and flavour to culinary dishes.
A very old favourite of mine.
Ingredients
2 tblsp Olive oil
¾ tsp Black mustard seeds
¾ tsp Chili powder (or cayenne pepper) - I use slightly more
½ tsp Turmeric powder
400 gm Potatoes, scrubbed and cubed (25 mm)
Salt, to taste
