Alphabetic town and related food game

I must be getting bored
Anyone keen to play a little game?
We start with A (surprise surprise)
Anyone lived or visited a town starting with "A" tell us about the town and food scene...
Whether that's Auckand, Aalsmeer, Anchorage, Austin, ....
And after a while I'll call for the next letter....

So A is for Amersfoort in the Netherlands. I went to high school there.
Every day by bicycle, 17 km each way
My parents loved going out so we went to a number of restaurants there.
Turkish, Mexican, Indonesian, and more.
Couple great Indonesian shops there as well.
And they got a brewery "de drie ringen"

Alcester four years ago.
The best gluten free burger I have ever, ever had (pretty good motorbike festival too), very expensive at £12.99 but turned out worth every penny!

Followed by some good West Country cider (even up there they know ours is the best ).

Then a slightly (ahem) inebriated me seriously contemplating the thrill of buying a Suzuki Hayabusa, only a mere 194 bhp

Fortunately the burger soaked up enough cider to stop any death purchases happening

I went to Amsterdam, Auckland, and Austin. This is all I remember
I love the raw herrings from Amsterdam
I love the mussels from Auckland
And I love the gumbo from Austin

Oh I forgot about Amsterdam.
Not surprisingly I also don’t remember what I ate while I was there!

Grief - places I have been that begin with "A" - Angelsea, Australia. It is on the coast in Victoria and has some of the best fish and chips outside of England
