Recipe Australian style Sausage Rolls

I think the french have something similar, I bought them from our local French bakery, they make them with pork and a bit pate. I forgot the name, maybe friand. They charge about $7-$8 a piece.

Now you have introduced something different again "Pigs in a Blanket" :D

They are hot dogs (basically) wrapped in pastry ;) :)

Who du thought something as simple and basic as a poor little sausage roll could lead to such complicated matters :) :) :)

Just to complicate things further, pigs in blankets in the UK are little sausages wrapped in bacon. They are often served along with turkey etc fir Christmas dinner.

I’m thinking of making Australian sausage rolls with just grape leaves, what do you think, less carbs and more fillings.

I have at least a pound of lamb fat, with some meat around it. Why waste.
I think ground lamb would be excellent! Or ground turkey with the added fat. With the ground lamb, I don't think you would need added fat since it's a fatty meat already.
That makes two of us then :D
You have eaten lots and lots and lots of them, even if you are newbie at making them. At least you know what it's supposed to taste like!

JAS_OH1, that is a great idea, I might try with ground turkey.
Well you thought of that one yourself and Barriehie put in his two cents on that, so...

They kinda are here, too...only it's hot dogs (yuck). And in some regions it's sausages rolled in pancakes. Neither float my boat, but I would eat pastry wrapped sausages (depending on the kind of sausage and whether or not it was in casings...NO casings for me TYVM). IDK.

I'm not sure if I am reading some of the posts correctly so forgive me if I'm not but there is a difference between Sausages and Sausage Rolls - they aren't the same at all.

As said, if I am misunderstanding some of the posts then sorry but it seemed as though some were comparing actual sausages to sausage rolls ... hope that makes sense.
I wasn't thinking that at all. Sausages are sausages, and sausage rolls are pastry wrapped sausage mixture. And the big sausage round plastic packages you see in the grocery store are called chubs I think?
