I could get on board with that if it's a fairly mild blue. After all, I eat blues with fresh apple and pear slices.

Sorry, I was just refreshing my memory of this thread.
I can't remember how my mom ate blue cheese, I think it was on salads and in dressing.
 
Something I've always been curious about.
Is there a reason for calling blue cheese " Bleu" cheese, in the USA?
I see "bleu" and I think Louisiana, French, etc. Could that be it?

It's the French name for blue cheese. We also use the French word filet (fee-lay), instead of the British fillet. The US is a melting pot of immigrants.

I don't eat blue cheese as a snack. I do like it and use it as a flavor enhancement in my cooking.
