Sate ayam

My recipes are not very precise.

Ingredients
Garlic (about a tablespoon)
Ginger (same as garlic)
Chili (to taste, start with 1 or 2)
Lemon or lime juice (half tablespoon)
Ketjap (sweet soy) (2-3 tablespoons)
Onion (optional)
Chicken (breast/fillet. However much fits the marinade. I used maybe 150 gr, but you can easily use 500)
Peanut butter (2-3 tablespoons)

Make a marinade of the garlic, chili, ginger, ketjap and lime juice (I did not have ketjap, so I used some soy and treacle) and put the cubed chicken in it. Let marinate for some hours
Chili, ginger and limes came from my own garden

Put the chicken pieces on skewers and let the marinade drain for a bit

De marinade got used for the sauce as well.
I like a bit of onion in my satay sauce, but that's not standard. I fried it in some of the oil that was on top of the peanut butter.
When the onions are soft and slightly brown, add the marinade and 1 or 2 spoonful of peanut butter. Keep the heat low from now on. Add water and dissolve the peanut butter.
Add more soy if you want, and water when it thickens too much.

The chicken can be cooked on a grill. I used a wood fire

Your recipe sounds like something I would like to try. It would help if you provided quantities for your ingredients. I frequently throw things together without measuring but when sharing recipe measures are important. Could you edit your recipe to include quantities?

Don't know why this didn't post...
Wrote it before adjusting the recipe

I should make it again to do so :)
But I will make an attempt.

An aside:
You can use milk or coconut milk instead of water, it will be softer, more creamy that way. But I prefer water
