It's that time of year again. Time to make the Christmas cake. Only this year is a challenge as well because not only have I got to find my dedicated Christmas cake tin, some greaseproof paper but also half of the ingredients are going to be a challenge add all.
Little things like dried sour cherries, blanched almonds! Could be making those myself at this rate. Ironically Australian seedless golden raisins (so far only found the non-golden ones), blackstrap molasses, and my favourite dark muscavado sugar amongst other items.
Plus with my broken ribs and me not being able to travel at the moment, I'm entirely reliant on a certain husband of mine to find these items for me! At least I will have no shortage of fresh free range eggs to make it with!
Now to enjoy my first hot Christmas!
So had anyone else made their cake yet? Are you making your own? Do you have a preferred recipe? Or is it already made (I'm a little late with mine this year but I only broke my ribs 2 weeks ago so...)?
