Do You Rinse Your Rice

My new Electric Rice Cooker is working like a champ!
I'm getting perfectly cooked Rice every time.
I just love the smell of White Rice cooking!

What type of rice do you use?

Generally speaking, it's long grain Venezuelan-produced, but I also cook a lot of basmati.

I mostly use Jasmine now. I quit buying the cheapo long grain white rice that's a Southern thing. In 'Vegas I had a 5 gallon food storage bucket with 20 lbs. of Jasmine in it all the time. No longer in the land of the Intl market I buy 5 lbs. at a time.

I typically use brown rice, brown basmati, brown jasmine and brown medium grain. Sometimes black or red rice as well. Depending on the recipe and how much water we have in storage, depends on whether i wash the rice first. But usually i do not wash it first.

I also cook it the same way as pasta, so I've never really seen the need.
