Experimental Kitchen. A thread for your test kitchen fun.

I usually soak my beans overnight, then cook them first thing while I'm drinking my half gallon of tea.
If I forget, however, I cover them with water, bring to a rolling boil for 3-4 minutes, then turn off the gas. A couple of hours later, I cook them and they're fine.
I've never had a issue with digesting them either, but I eat loads of beans and lentils every week.
What is this gas theme going on in this thread? I thought this was supposed to be an experimental kitchen thread?

Actually, to draw a line under under the fart diversion, my post about soaking time was about several advantages. Gives a (way) better culinary result IMO.

Am sure by now presoaked and quick cooked pinto beans would probably be ok for me to eat, just prefer the long cook result. Never had issues with other beans and pulses.
Ok? End of.

This is the test kitchen.
Next please

My not-yet-cromesquis have jelled up quite nicely overnight. Since this involves frying, which I detest for the mess, it's not going to get finished until I get some bread crumbs and have a day off, probably Sunday.

No bread crumbs at Ollie's and I've already twisted the recipe so I think I'll go with some kind of flavored, maybe, crushed crackers instead of plain bread crumbs.
