Food Prices

Fuel prices have spiked here from 2.89 to 3.19/gal last week to 3.59 yesterday at the local gas station. Thats just shy of a 25% increase.

There's always pretty quick knock-on effect on everything else.
Let's put it this way. A $ 1-per-litre increase for a 100L tank is $100 extra per tank than before. Or about US$70 or GBP50 a tankful extra

Great cars but not the most fuel efficient
Tell me about it. This is the 4.5L v8 model with an LPG fuel conversion as well. Runs off 91-98 octane or LPG when it worked. With me not using her much, we run her on 95 most of the time; the fuel degrades in the summer months, and she won't start if it were 91 octane.

It already costs AU$160-180 to fill her up (ish). I know she underrecords by between 5-10% because of the off-road tyres, but this fuel rise is going to take the price of 1 tank of fuel over the AU$250 mark, which is about US$175, or GBP125, and I get a mumble mumble to a tank full (550 km or about 350 miles to a tank). I typically only fill her up once a month, thankfully. At these prices, if I can find a repair shop and someone selling LPG, it will be cheaper to repair the LPG system and use that (if I can find someone selling LPG, that is.)
