Garden Variety Roasted Chicken

my house smells like YUM! perfumed with the smell of a roasted chicken. i am hoping for a great gravy in the end.

i am cooking early. one of my neighbors was recently widowed, so i have vowed to keep her decently fed (for the time being). she cant cook at all. i think GRAVY makes anyone feel slightly better.

when was the last time you roasted a bird? i forget about this all the time. not a typical weekday meal for sure. i know it was the first meal i cooked for my wife (then girlfriend).

I cook them often. I'm cooking 1 this weekend at my daughters request as its her birthday choice. I'm doing 1 plus a roast of beef because I won it in a raffle. With home made gravy.

Sounds good, one of my favorite meals, and very easy. I also don’t do one frequently enough. I think I may have done one last Autumn.

I roast maybe 3 times a year but buy whole birds all the time for other purposes. Roast chicken with gravy is hard to beat. Cheers

Just salt and pepper. Simple as it gets. And straight traditional mirepoix. Carrots celery, onions.
