Was watching a food program and they mentioned Southern Hot Milk Cake???  I looked it up and with my recent coincidence with scalded flour discussion decided to make one.
I, slightly, modified the recipe found here. Modifications are italicized. I opted for a salted caramel sauce topping.
Ingredients:
Preheat oven to 350 °F/175 °C
Combine the milk and butter in a pot and heat until the butter is melted. I brought mine to a simmer and remove from the heat. Combine remaining ingredients and *slowly* sir in the milk/butter mixture.
Original recipe says bake like a cake but I baked mine in a graham cracker crust. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, around 35 minutes.

 - 1 1/2 cups sugar
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
 - 1 1/2 cups milk
 - 1 stick of butter
 - Nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
