Next, I need to refocus on our laundry room remodel, which I'm also wainscoting. I installed the same in our dining room, and we also have some under the kitchen bar counter and above our fireplace surround.
Before pic, with 35-year old linoleum and cheap cabinets I installed when we bought the place in 2008.
Nothing is ever easy, and after ripping up the linoleum and underlayment, I found rot in the subfloor at the backdoor. I just had this door replaced, but the contractors never mentioned there was rot, or I'd have had them take care of it then, which would have been so much easier.
New underlayment installed, and LVP flooring being installed in this pic. That was my first time doing this, but it went well.
Priming/painting the wainscoting.
And here's where I'm at today. The new top cabinets are hung, but I still need to install and plumb the base cabinet for a sink, build the framework for the over-W/D countertop, and add all of the trim, though the cabinet crown molding and trim won't be available until next month. I'll hire out the countertop work, though the quotes I have right now are $$$$! Mrs. GH also wants to install a William Morris wallpaper print above the wainscoting, which should look bangin'! She painted the back wall in the color theme she wants, just to help visualize her options.
