The heads are the tasty bit! You suck on them...It's probably surprising to some folks in my country, too.

I've got an oyster shucker in the sams drawer
When I was doing food from Baltimore.
Just like crayfish.
I might leave the tail on in some dishes. But rarely. It adds to the time it takes to eat. And I typically like my food ready to eat when it's plated. I don't like setting down my fork to peel a shrimp.
But I wouldn't push the plate away if someone were to make it for me
Oysters are in my top favourite foods. Possibly they are my favourite food.
