Actually, maybe I can't do this. I've gotten to the whipped cream stage, but I can't get it past that. It's been 20 minutes. From what I've read, it should have separated by now. It's 36% butterfat, so the cream is good. Maybe it's too cold?Good luck. Let me know how it works out.

A bit after the fact - only just seen this thread - but any well flavoured oil or fat (or mixture) works just as well - like EVOO for example - which is my preference - or bacon fat as suggested earlier in the thread. Was about to say the same!Do you have heavy cream? You can whip it into butter. You will have homemade butter and buttermilk to use for baking.
