I have 9 children and raise most of my own food. I love to cook and eat healthy and am always looking for new ideas and inspiration! I look forward to chatting with everyone!

Welcome! NINE children :eek:. You must be very busy unless they have all grown up and left! I had 4 and that was quite enough. I hope you enjoy it here. We are very friendly - in fact I think I can safely say I've never known anyone be nasty here! If you want to 'get your feet wet' then a good way is to enter the Cooking Bites Recipe Challenge. It so happens I'm the current judge. Its all a load of fun and we really don't take it too seriously - you can enter any recipe you like. Your own or one you have found elsewhere. The current ingredient is lentils. So...any recipe containing lentils!
 
@morning glory They are mostly grown now (4 still at home). It was a bit stressful when I had 5 under 9 years old! But they are awesome and a lot of fun as teens and adults (who also cook, drive and babysit!). Oooh - we eat lots of lentils. I will see what I can come up with! :okay:
 
I live to eat. I've seriously blown airline points just to trav l to get to a meal!

When I'm not eating I'm working in NYC. Any other foodies from the five boroughs here?

Hello! I'm Allie and I'm from Florida. I have a beautiful daughter who is almost 2 years old and a wonderful loving husband. I am always cooking and creating recipes. I worked in hospitality for almost a decade in some of the best hotels and restaurants in the world. I was a great bartender and invented some great hand crafted cocktails but I always found myself in the kitchen during my breaks learning from the chefs. I have carried over my love for food to my daughter by creating recipes just for her. I made all of her baby food from scratch and along the way discovered some great meals for both her and my family. I am interested in food science and heating techniques. My mother is Peruvian and my father Italian so I tend to cook in the those circles often. I also enjoy eating fresh by picking from my garden. I love to try new recipes but also share my own.
