One pudding I love (and I don't eat desserts often), is New Orleans style bread pudding, always served with a bourbon sauce. :hungry:

That looks like bread & butter pudding. See, you're getting the hang of it!

Bourbon sauce - OK, that takes it to another level. Would like the recipe for that.

I've never made it, but here is a recipe I found online that looks like what it tastes like, if that makes sense.

New Orleans Bourbon sauce
  1. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  2. 1 cup granulated sugar
  3. 3 Tbs unsalted butter
  4. 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  5. 2 T cornstarch
  6. 1/2 cup bourbon (or more if you're feeling boozy)
  7. 1 T pure vanilla extract
CD Note: I would add Bourbon until you like the taste.

  1. In a bowl, whisk the sugar and cornstarch together well
  2. Next, melt the butter in a saucepan then add in the sugar and cornstarch mixture
  3. Whisk in the remaining ingredients
  4. Bring to a boil for 1 min then turn off the heat
  5. Continue to stir
  6. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
  7. Pour sauce on individual servings of the bread pudding.
  8. Enjoy!
CD Note: don't let it cool completely. It should be served warm.

That sound unctuous, thank you. Similar to a brandy sauce we serve with Christmas pudding.

Doctor's appointment. I need a referral for a knee problem (insurance -- I can't go straight to a orthopedic specialist), and I'm getting flue shot while I am there. I learned my lesson last flu season (unlike our president and Covid).

Eat breakfast, feed the dog, work, feed the dog, treadmill, scary movie, feed the dog, make supper, feed the dog, watch TV, sleep. That's my day.

No lunch?
I'm so busy, I forgot!

I also have to run out and pick up prescription refills for the dog, and there's a greenhouse next to that, so I'm getting some corn shocks and white pumpkins to finish up the front porch for Autumn.

I really am busy today. Now I'm mad!
