Office work today.
Preparing quotes for a guy I don't really respect much. Lots of wool, no substance.
He'll ask lots of details, not reply to anything or very late, then pretend it is my fault the quote comes late
And besides that, he'll never send clients our way...

Well it looks like it runs in the family.
The youngest has spent a fair portion of the day discussing his idea for deconstructed sushi. We've watched a few youtube vids for tips.
Which now we're in Spain requires a lot of ingredients that aren't readily available

But have no fear son, your mother suffers from the same affliction and brought an entire suitcase of ingredients with mostly oriental stuff

We plan to go foraging to gather the easily available ingredients

Hmm. Not sure on this one.
Yesterday the youngest asked if he could use a kilo of the diced steak to make spicy beef.
I said yes you can but beef in Spain isn't as tender as in the UK so be prepared for a long cook time.

He wasn't and entered into kitchen fail territory, it got late, he looked miserable and the beef was tough.

I said you can abandon it you know. Just stop the cooking now and we can stick it in the slow cooker tomoz. He agreed but his face was so very sour.

It's just before 6am. Do I put the beef in the slow cooker and fix it for him to draw a line under it, or do I wait til he wakes up and walk him through it?

Edit: He is not even vaguely interested in fixing it, he’s pretty cross with it and left to his own devices it would probably go in the bin! He understands what I’m doing with it though so he’s not missing out on learning a fix. I wouldn’t be surprised if even the slow cooker can’t beat this beef into submission, I suspect old dairy cow.

Went shopping in Delft, was very succesful.

New books, a plushie, a surprise for my husband, the best cookies of Delft , lovely shower gel and fabulous sunglasses.

We're having a drink with an Egyptian refugee who stays at the hotel later today. Seems to be an interesting fellow!
