Just saaaaaying lol

While we were waiting for our flight I saw 3 article headlines on my phone about plane wrecks. But I know it's way more dangerous to be in a car than it is on a plane. And my dad being a pilot I've never been afraid to fly.

Our drive would have been nearly 11 hours, not including stops (each way). Our in-air time was 1 hour 38 minutes each way with no stops.

Curious that, isn't it?
I was once on a flight out of New York and there was a MayDay call. ( I was sitting in the front seat with my girlfriend). Panic - but then, calm. Nothing to be done.
Statistically, you're far more likely to be killed in a car accident, or walking along the street. IATA says that there's one accident in every 810,000 flights - an average over the past five years.
Post script: we made an emergency landing in Bangor, Maine. Down the emergency chutes. When we got to the bottom, the security guy said:
"Run to the terminal as fast as you can."
We did, even though it was about -5 outside.
