Plans for today (2025)

My plans for today are to get some work done this afternoon. I have to travel north up near where my oldest daughter lives and I am going to drop in unexpectedly and surprise her. My plan is to do it right when her 5 year old gets home from school and her 2 year old is running around driving her crazy. I'll drop off some cookies or other sugary snack so they get all wired and drive her nuts, give them all a hug and kiss, and leave, LOL!
Now that's a plan!

Ahh, I understand what you are saying, but it's kinda like a bunch of kids at recess having fun and talking and having the strict teacher come out and say, "Quit having fun! Go somewhere else and have fun, but you can't do it here!"

Leave a couple of Red Bulls within reach... 😉

Yerp.

That’s enough, everyone to your seats, settle down and turn to page 36 where we will discuss planning your day. Hey you user 53uslessatstayingontopic what are you saying, to your neighbour? Is it about planning your day? Then it’s not relevant, stop the chatter get back to page 36 or outside and speak to me after class 😂

True. And we ALL do it, including mods :D
Someone posts an off-topic post, or even an "aside", and we all jump in, because that's human nature and we're all enthusiastic.
However... once we've got half a dozen or so posts on " how to keep your pet elephant from nicking the bananas out of the kitchen" - it's the mods who have to clean up and relocate posts to another thread.
We do this with considerable pleasure, of course:D:D:D, but the main reason is simply to facilitate future searches. Sometime, in the future, a new poster might need to know how to avoid his bloody elephant from nicking his nanas, and if it's in the "what are you cooking today" thread, then he/she won't be able to find it.
And yes, I was a school prefect, so it's nothing new to me.:laugh::laugh:

Today, I'm going to Ladies Luncheon and celebrating our Neighborhood Gal Pal's birthday.
She moved away five years ago to be closer to her Grandson, who is now in Kindergarten and Granny doesn't get to see him everyday anymore.
With that being said, she now lives right down the road from the rest of us, instead of two doors over.

Enjoy :)

Mahalo, thanks! I've been looking forward to this luncheon, it's at probably the only "nice" restaurant within 100+ miles.
The Chef/Owner is from Hawaii and worked for one of the restaurant groups on Oahu. He brings in fresh fish from Hawaii... so excited!
I'm off then!

Today's plans were to wrap up with work at 11:30 for the week, then take a road trip with Mrs. GH out to the discount grocery store owned by Mennonites to see what we could stock up on, while first stopping at a wood mill to return some of my wainscoting trim order that they screwed up and need to re-make. Afterwards, we'd hit a surplus inventory home goods store, then a gun store out that way, then hit a neat local bar and restaurant for drinks and appetizers across the street, before stopping to pick up quartz samples to choose a countertop for our laundry room. We just got back a bit ago. It was a nice day of running around with Mrs. GH. My plans for the rest of the night are to relax and visit with neighbors who will be popping over.

Early outs and then family time are always good! More so going into a weekend. 👍

My shocked emoji was about any Mennonite (or Amish) screwing up a wood trim order.

Successful surprise. Exactly as chaotic as I'd imagined.

Grandma's premeditated accelerator to said chaos:

Now those were extra large packages. My grandkids went nuts, lol. I thoroughly enjoyed it as I stayed only an hour, long enough time for them to get even more wired!
