I can do better than a smidgeon of dry yeast so I took Jas, my sourdough starter, out of the fridge to warm up and get fed. I'll let her do her thing overnight and work on some conglomerate pizza dough recipe to yield a thin crust... View attachment 138363

I fed my starter yesterday but the plan is to make pumpernickel rye with it.

Pumpernickel is a kind of bread, LOL, not like you didn't already know that.

It's sooooo cold in my kitchen that my starter didn't wake up properly on the first feeding so I will need to do that again before making bread.

Just woke up, waiting for my first coffee of the day, it will be a long one. Going to Novara, a city in Piedmont, about 1 hour by car from Milan. Afterwards have to go to Torino, the main city of Piedmont.
Better to start getting ready before the morning traffic rush starts.

It’s raining like billy-oh here too. Most strange to experience what feels like autumnal weather in southern Spain, although maximum temp is still 16c and it’s sunny again tomoz so not quite a Blighty autumn

Plan on seeing what’s in the freezer so I can avoid going out in the pouring rain and probably drinking plenty of wine cos back to the UK on thursday and I realise I’ve not imbibed any alcohol since last Thursday (I think) which as breaks go is a bit remiss of me so I intend to remedy that
