Plans for today (2026)

Our living tv is about 8 years old and whilst I’m quite happy with it after much complaints about burn out, fading, dimness, being unresponsive and impossible to game on (I prefer to think of all of that as ‘quirky’ 😂) I have finally conceded it’s not great and am off to Bristol to pick up a new tv.
I wasn’t planning on going today but the weather turns a bit ugly here tonight and I’d rather not be driving to n fro in it tomorrow, friday traffic is bad enough as it is, without the inevitable moron crashes and jams that happen anytime we move away from middling weather.

What I’ve not mentioned is I’m still not getting rid of the old tv, I’m going to store it in the fantasy ‘moving to the Isle of Man’ pile of stuff. I’m sure they’ll all be super stoked when it finally all comes together and they walk into the new place to see that hunk of ageing plastic again 😜
It kinda sounds like a bad marriage...

My "aging plastic" TV is 13 yo and fine. What I noticed at Walmart the other day is what I paid for my 43" you can now get a 63". Good thing I'm not a fan of the idiot box too much.

Another day for D&D here, but last night I decided this is it for this week. Afterwards I will go out to eat at a new restaurant.

More gardening in the afternoon, I think yesterday I was able to loosen my Florida Giant mulberry, today I’ll see if I can pot in a separate container. Right now it’s in an alley and share with another mulberry, it’s very hard for me to pick the berries.

plans for today, mostly carried out.

  • water the garden
  • prep the chooks areas by wetting them down
  • put extra feed out
  • let the chooks out to free range early
  • water a few items
  • refill all water bowls around the garden (there are about 20 of them out at the moment so anything can get easy access to water)
and finally
  • hide
Yep - done. I don't even need to cook today.
