Poultry Shears

Does anyone have a higher quality brand of poultry shears they really like? I've never been happy with the cheap ones we've bought.

Got my silicone baguette baking forms and my Dragon Riot shears.

I’ll add that while I don’t have have them (yet), I did recommend the Dragon Riot shears to my neighbor, and she absolutely loves them, and she’s notoriously fault-finding.

I’m glad I recommended the Dragon Riot butcher knife to SandwichShortOfAPicnic. I LOVE my Dragon Riot butcher knife. She wasn’t able to get the knife but she got the shears and loves them.

I think mine were $24 but that's okay since the last pair of shears I bought works out to around $1/year for the last 20 years or so.

$24 is about £18 so I think you're quids in there

They don't have mine available anymore. It was a single knife. It's called a boning knife. They have knife sets now. Amazon “Prime Days” are coming in a few days (October 8-), maybe I'll get the shears.

This is my knife. If you are in the market, this brand (Dragon Riot) is FANTASTIC.

I actually have this beast that I've been using as my poultry shears. At least, it will spatchcock a chicken easier than my crappy shears.

That Dragon Riot brand has good reviews after looking them up on a few sites. It's cheaper than the All Clad and Wusthof shears I had been looking at, too. Hmmm...

I have the Wusthof classic shears…I don’t care for those at all, and I generally like their stuff. Most of my knives are Wusthof.

I just use a boning knife, or any knife that's within reach

We've got a pair of shears in the kitchen drawer which have never been used. Chickens are dismembered with an 8" chef's knife.

I also use my DR boning knife to break down chickens.
