Pumpkin Sidecar
Makes 1 drink

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces cognac (I used St. Remy's VSOP)
1 1/2 ounces pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
1/2 ounce simple syrup*
1/4 ounce orange liqueur (I used Grand Marnier)
1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Directions
Fill the base of a cocktail shaker about half-full with ice. Add the cognac, pumpkin, syrup, orange liqueur, and lime juice. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously about 25 times, until the contents are well mixed.

Double-strain into a martini or coupe, then garnish with a touch of the nutmeg.

Recipe based on Food Network's Butternut Squash Sidecar

*To make simple syrup, heat equal parts water and sugar on the stove or in the microwave. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then set aside to cool.

I think I have everything else except the cognac, which in this case, would be Hennesey, which is still kind of expensive!! I'll have to get it from Blanchard's to save a little money. :whistling:
