Food channel UK is very different. They have the franchise to all the UK Good Food channel programmes (defunct channel) and newer UK food programmes. Many are top notch: Rick Stein, Jamie Oliver, Nigel Slater, James Martin, Tom Kerridge, Nigella, Nadia Hussein etc. Lately they have been running an Indian cooking theme with several Indian chefs. They also show a smattering of US shows, which include DDD, Barefoot Contessa and Rachael Ray.
Rachael seems to me to cook rather basic things and her plating isn't exactly wonderful. But maybe that is the point; she may appeal to folk who are less experienced at cooking. I gather she has no formal training at all. Its her shouty manner, non stop chatter and hand gestures which upset me - but then I'm a quiet mannered Brit...
It has somewhat changed my view of her after reading TastyReuben's comments above regarding her help in his hometown.

That's my kind of cook. As I am a rather basic diner myself.
Plus she did a lot of one pot meals, which appeals to me.
