Fascinating - with the origins in Cornwall as the workers in the Minnesota mines came from there. One thing - rutabaga (which is 'swede' in the UK) is also in the traditional Cornish pasty. This account says that it came from the Finnish immigrants. Hmmm....
Maybe all those Cornish tin miners were secret Finns. Perhaps Ross Poldark's real name was Roosti Poldarknen. :laugh:
