Show us your breakfast (2025)

To me, nothing. I'd eat it darker even without a problem. But SatNavSaysStraightOn and SandwichShortOfAPicnic could spot even a pinhead of dark brown on the edges and...they might eat it that dark but they would be grumbling internally,.
Grumbling wouldn’t get close if it was burnt (I know it’s rye and it’s not burnt), should I detect I’d accidentally eaten burnt toast my head swivels anticlockwise 360 degrees, charcoal vom decorates the walls and hopefully covers the purveyor of the atrocity 😂

Same loaf of bread?
Yep - part of it looks really glossy black in that photo due to melting butter.

When I make rye bread it gets some cacao in it.
Same with mine, and MrsT brought me back some interesting cacao from places far away (I don’t remember where) and that stuff is blacker than a Very Black Thing.

I love rye bread.... 😍

You have a lovely way with words.

My bowl of dee-luxe oatmeal/oats:

Steel-cut oats simmered in milk, then maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon stirred in off the heat, into the bowl and topped with golden raisins, a splash of maple syrup, a sprinkle of maple sugar, and a dusting of cinnamon.

Homemade Bran/cranberry and nut muffins, American-style scrambled eggs topped with shredded Colby Jack cheese and BACON bacon bacon bacon, IT'S BACON!!!

I made a whole tray and now need to think what else to do with it, before it disappears of course

This is my copycat of a "Breakfast Skillet" from one of my mother's favorite breakfast joints here in Cowboyville AZ: shredded Hash Brown Potatoes (cooked in Bacon grease please), a protein of your choice (leftover Bacon in this case, which is NOT offered at the above mentioned joint), American-style scrambled Eggs, all topped off with cheese of the diners choice.
Can I pat my own back and say how stinkin' good this was?
DH asked me, "how much was this same plate at XYZ?"
WAY more than what it cost me to make here at home, I tell you!
Then throw in a small glass of juice at $5 a pop/no refills and not to mention the fruit bowl you had as an appetizer, AND diced tomatoes on the side ...
