Sirloin Patty in miso gravy

:chef: The recipe

Meat mixture ingredients
  • 1 lbs of Top Sirloin Ground Beef
  • 3 tbsp of worcester sauce
  • 1 tbsp A1 steak sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp of red miso
Instructions for Meat
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Form 2 large oval shaped patties
  3. Place in freezer for 20-30 minutes
Sauce Mixture ingredients
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 pint of whole mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp of red miso
  • 1 tbsp of worcester sauce
  • 1 tbsp of A1 steak sauce
  • 3 cloves of garlic
Instructions for Sauce
  1. Wash mushrooms and remove stems
  2. In glass baking dish, mix broth, miso, worcester sauce, and steak sauce.
  3. Remove meat patties from freezer and place in baking dish.
  4. Surround with mushrooms and garlic cloaves.
  5. Bake at 350 F / 175 C for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove and flip patties. Return to the oven for 20 minutes.
  7. Serve hot on plates. Top meat and mushrooms with sauce from the dish.

 
Tasty, I'll bet. I love the way you cook the mushrooms whole. I usually do the same where possible. I think they are much more succulent that way. Miso and beef, miso and mushroom - perfect matches.
I agree about the mushrooms. Far too often we migrate to mushroom slices in recipes when whole mushrooms produce a better visual appeal.

What a great article @morning glory . I love the short video in the article.
So I guess it is official. The recipe I made is Salisbury steak!!! The big difference is I made a thin gravy with miso in it and I baked the whole dish.
