Same here - its floppy and soggy. I will eat it though. I think of it as a different thing from 'real' asparagus.

Same here - its floppy and soggy. I will eat it though. I think of it as a different thing from 'real' asparagus.
I've had it a few times. Cooked it myself last year - I don't think I ever posted the recipe or photo so I'll dig it out. I thought it was a much more subtle taste than the best fresh green asparagus. I'd like to think it was like the difference between Native oysters and Rock oysters but I'm not sure I'd go that far.

Steamed, pan seared, grilled and wrapped in prosciutto, in a frittata or quiche. Good stuff!

I started reading this post last night and then dreamed about asparagus

There is a local-ish farm that grows asparagus but we wont be able to get there this year.
I absolutely love asparagus. Not a fan on the tinned/jarred.
