Same here. I perused some ingredients and after I got home, 30 miles later, had my recipe idea. Going to be a minute before I get out there again.I'm looking at a couple of things to make, but not today.

My grandmom would “clean” her bacon grease with water (pour it in a jar, shake it up, set it down upside down overnight, and the fat and water separate, with all the crunchy bits in the water).
We went through so much bacon grease that Mom didn’t even bother to strain it. There was no time for the dregs to get rancid before it was used.
How about a TastyMom favorite - a piece of cheap white supermarket bread, and a couple of tablespoons of cold bacon grease smeared on like butter?

Speaking of coffee, Mom (and her mom) would also put a little bit of bacon grease in their coffee - and now, all the trendies swear by butter or coconut oil going into your coffee to boost the health benefits.

I've used cacao butter before. Big time stir thing...Mom’s diabetic, you know, she’s got to watch that sugar…and there it goes in her coffee…!

Mom would make a simple hot bacon grease dressing, just vinegar, sugar, and bacon grease and pour it over some fresh salad greens.
She called it “kilt salad,” which she explained was because all that hot dressing “has kilt that salad dead!” - it was her favorite salad dressing, and she’d also pour it on boiled potatoes.

Green beans, red wine vinegar, cold & single pressed peanut oil and some fish sauce.
With egg
To accompany my lasagne as I was hungry

It worked pretty well
I do have to admit that my lasagne normally contains some fish and soy sauce. And chili's
(Off topic, the Romans used garum in their cooking, pretty similar to fish sauce (if what I read is correct))
