Color me stupid : got a new iPhone back a few months ago, and did you know or do you care, that they've added an App called Health - you can track your steps ... I did not know this.
In Costco alone today I walked over 2200 steps!!!
So far for the day, I've walked over 6000 steps
It's suggested that you keep your iPhone in your pocket, I guess it's accurate
🤷‍♀️

She’s going to be in the hospital at least three more days, receiving antibiotics. We were supposed to return home in four days, and we will probably be extending our trip. Having an extended trip in Paradise would’ve been a dream come true before, but it’s more of a nightmare now. We will have to pay whatever additional expenses for the hotel, not to mention hospital expenses. There may be some coverage from insurance, but we can’t find out about that until the office is open on Monday.

She was able to check out after three days, and fortunately there is no brain damage or other serious complications. Her face is terribly bruised, though.

For those who criticize the American healthcare system, I have to say I miss it after having spent three nights in a hospital in Mexico. I had to charge $24,000 to my credit card. Some of it will hopefully be reimbursed by travel insurance that I purchased. But, that insurance was purchased mostly in case of cancellation, not in case of an accident. It’s also uncertain how much of my mother-in-law‘s Blue Cross will cover her for travel inside the country.

We extended our trip until Saturday, making it the first two week vacation we’ve ever taken. But, it’s really hard to enjoy ourselves after all that’s happened.

I’m at least glad that it’s not as serious as it could have been and that she’s been released.

The rest of it is difficult and hurts in a different way, though, I know that. I hope you can recoup some of that cost.

Good to hear a full recovery is on the cards.
I could never understand my friends partner when seriously ill on holiday leaving the hospital and getting on a plane home, he was so sick he couldn’t support his own body weight, he had a large open wound that exposed his intestines and was certainly not fit to fly but when you hear the cost of the medical care you can kind of understand someone risking their life to run home.
