Things you miss due to no longer available or formula/recipe change

One that the environmentally-minded won’t like, but I miss paper mail-order catalogs.
I still get sent quite a lot of them and most of them I really enjoy browsing through.
I love returning to the urr urr water closet and picking back up where I left off.
The browsing things on the internet is too fleeting.

I get my seed catalogs in paper. Those are more informative than online.

Also with paper things they’ve done a lot of the work for you, like reading a newspaper it’s not every single news story at once, a good editor will know what order of importance or interest to print the info in.

City chicken with pork AND veal.
I never see veal around anymore. I saw a huge veal farm last week, when I took Teia for her rabies shot. But it looked deserted.
Of course all pork city chicken is good, but not as good as pork and veal.

For those who are going to say What's that? lol, It's skewered pieces of meat, like a kebab, that are breaded and baked. You just can't see the wood skewers :)

Not a fan of city chicken. I first ate it after moving from Florida to Ohio and wasn't a fan. But, I know I am picky and odd in my tastes, so no offense to yours.

Now veal, OTOH...ethical issues with that one.

I've never made city chicken, but I can get a lot of veal cuts and organs at my ShopRite. I've made breaded veal cutlet and stuffed veal breast in the past. Not very often.
Is this what you use?

Definitely ethical issues.
But I still miss it :(

Surprisingly, due to me liking city chicken, I am not a fan of breaded pork chops.
But I probably wouldn't turn one down.

Do you eat breaded pork otherwise?
Don't like kebabs? Although city chicken is eaten like chicken, but kebabs are generally slid off the skewer. In my circle anyway.

Sure, that would work.
City chicken is a thing here, so generally come already skewered and ready for the customer to bread it, marinate it or whatever. My family only had them breaded. And it was my mother's best gravy by far.
I think she used to fry them a little to brown them up, then put them in an oven safe dish with a little water. That's how I tried to replicate them anyway.

Have to bread the chops in crushed up bacon and cheese flavored potato chips... 😉

It's not the breading that bothers me... exactly...
It's that bone in pork chops are SO GOOD as is, I don't put a coating of anything on them unless it's gravy, BBQ sauce, or nothing.
But those do sound like good potato chips :)

Yeah, that's a way to use up the bottom of the bag. Later in the week I'm fixing oven baked chops for the GG's.
