Me too!I'm on a "see food" diet lol.
Seriously though, I never understood cutting out a type of food completely for dieting purposes, but since I've never been on a diet, I happily live with an extra 25 pounds.

I don't buy store ice cream. It's too cheaply made in the interest of profit to have the flavor and mouth feel I call ice cream. And then an irresistible sale pops up. Happens to me regularly.
I wasn't thinking about ice cream, I was thinking meat. It takes up freezer space too. In fact I haven't had ice cream in my freezer for at least a year.I don't buy store ice cream. It's too cheaply made in the interest of profit to have the flavor and mouth feel I call ice cream.![]()
Oh, I only make ice cream once and then I'm done so it has a short window of existence in my freezer.I wasn't thinking about ice cream, I was thinking meat. It takes up freezer space too. In fact I haven't had ice cream in my freezer for at least a year.
I buy it for family dinners occasionally if I make a pie and thats about it. I do love ice cream though, but DH won't eat it. I'll stop and get a cone at a specialty ice cream stand about 1x a year.Oh, I only make ice cream once and then I'm done so it has a short window of existence in my freezer.
Beef is stupid expensive. I don't even look at it anymore when shopping unless I'm getting the $4/lb. oxtail at my specialty butcher. I'm eating that "new white meat" they call pork... OT so I'll stop.I buy it for family dinners occasionally if I make a pie and thats about it. I do love ice cream though, but DH won't eat it. But I'm constantly trying to free up space in my freezer, like for freezing pasta or a steak sale. Haven't seen one of those in a few years, unfortunately, though I have found ground beef for $1.99 lb. A few years ago I found a bunch of Black Angus ribeyes and NY strips on sale and man they were good. Now beef is skyrocketing again.
I don't look at it either unless I saw it on sale in the grocery ad, like the ground beef for $1.99 lb or the steaks for $5.99 lb. I portion the GB and seal it in cryovac packages with my food saver. I like pork (especially bacon and sausage). I do love a good steak or a hamburger. Oxtail sounds pretty good. I haven't seen it around here.Beef is stupid expensive. I have a hand crank spinning cheese grater I specifically use for hard aged Italian cheeses. Instead of washing it every time i use it, I just keep it in a ziplock in the refrigerator. I do take it apart and wash it about every 4 months or so.

The amount of parmesan cheese we use, I'd have a sore arm using a microplane. That's great for zesting though.Do you have a microplane? I find that works very well for hard aged parmesan. I simply brush it off or rinse under the tap. I had one of those hand crank graters many many years ago. Back in the 70's I think! I think it was before microplanes were invented. In fact I used to use it more for grated cheddar than hard Italian cheese.
That's what I've got.Works a treat, and just like JAS_OH1, we get through loads of Parmesan cheese every month.I have a hand crank spinning cheese grater I specifically use for hard aged Italian cheeses.
