Travel Plans 2025

It's school holidays here and next week we're going to Seoul in Korea. I used to go there a lot for work but not for maybe 5 or 6 years now, so quite looking forward to it. Korean food is amongst my favourites for variety. It'll be my daughter's first time and she's a teenager into K-Pop so I think she's quite excited.

We’re in the process of working out all our meals on our upcoming Pennsylvania Odyssey - we’ve got about 95% of them figured out (day, meal, and restaurant).
I'm on 'holiday' and I can't tell you what I'm eating for lunch tomorrow.

Breakfast is however sorted assuming that the yoghurt hasn't gone bad whilst we've been away.

We’ve been over there so often, we now have regular spots for eating, so every single place we’re going to, save one, we’ve already been there, and most likely, more than once.

That means our restaurant scheduling goes something like:

“Ok…we’re going to be there…eight days. We usually eat two meals a day…and we need to eat at the Lincoln Diner, the Dutch Country Restaurant, the Altland House, the Cloister Restaurant, the White House, the Famous Hotdog, Greybill’s Diner, the Pub Room, and the Trojan Diner…and we’re eating at the Lincoln Diner, Dutch Country and Greybill’s twice, and I know it’s not a meal, but we need to go to the pretzel bakery at least twice…so we need to match up places with meals, because places we’re eating at twice will be one morning and one afternoon each, and we’ll have to have reservations at the Atland House, and…”

I would hate that. In the days when I travelled I would only plan ahead if a restaurant needed to be booked to get a table. Otherwise, mainly self catering as I preferred to stay in rented 'cottages' rather than hotels. Its generally cheaper to do that too. Or if not cooking then having fun finding somewhere new to eat. I did have a few favourite restaurants in places like Ramsgate where I often stayed. But I wouldn't want to plan which days I would visit them.

I am with you on that, and generally reservations are made the same day as the visit or the day before!

Yeah I generally would want to cook for at least half of my meals, particularly breakfasts (yogurt, fruit, bagels, that kind of thing) because we eat so light at first meal.

Yeah, that much planning would make my head hurt, LOL!

Oh, I’m sooooo looking forward to it! I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there, and all the places we’re going, except for two new ones, I know what they have, so I know I can pick something very easily once I sit down.

I’m already thinking about all the omelettes and fried potatoes and and pork chops and fried potatoes and fried potatoes and runny eggs and open-faced sandwiches covered in gravy and fried potatoes, and… 😋
