Weekly Menu (2025)

The weekly menu is now changed. I went to Costco and lobster tails were almost $100 for 6-7 small ones, so I decided that’s too much money for just me, my family is not too crazy about lobsters, so I got shrimp and cocktail sauce for much less than $20. A bit of a splurge. So the lunch menu is shrimp cocktail and sauce, guacamole and potato chips(not corn chips), tiny egg sandwiches with watercress, finger food like having a tea in England.
Then the roasted lamb shoulder with mint sauce, it will be served at around 4-5ish with a nice crunchy salad. Maybe I do some roast potatoes too.
The price of a roast beef is expensive, I took a picture just to show, I’m not too crazy about beef, let alone at this price. Costco does have a reputation of very good beef though.

Beef prices are stupid. Period. I was in a local meat store and they had some cut that was $282.00, they're smokin' something...

Last year I think it was $74-$96 and I already thought it was expensive. Albertsons just had it on sale for $8 a pound.

I changed my mind, no egg sandwiches, I’m making pizza with yeast, I want to use all the charcuterie stuff from my fridge. This will be my recipe

I'd sub 2 Tbsp molasses for the sugar and since you're using the charcuterie stuff Pippi and I will be there shortly. We're bringing chickpeas... 😉

You want simple sugars like fructose and glucose for things to eat. White sugar is sucrose, fructose and glucose combined, the things to eat it have to break it down first. That's slower and less efficient calorie wise for the yeast doing the eating. 😉

I will be making the dough tonight, the recipe says it lasts 5 days in the fridge, plus it becomes more flavorful the longer it’s in the fridge.
It will! Long ferments (I call at greater than 2 days.) can, to a degree, benefit from the addition of diastatic malt powder.

That stuff will, even at fridge temps, break down the food available in the flour for the yeast to eat. In other words, food becomes available after the point where available sugar is consumed so the yeast can keep feeding. It adds to the complexity of flavor and contributes to oven spring.

Check it out...
