They are Indian jujube, this year I finally acquired a Thai jujube which is an Indian type of jujube. All I know is they are Ziziphus mauritiana Ziziphus mauritiana - Wikipedia
They grow everywhere around here. They are not indeginous, but close to becoming that way
What tomatoes?I spent the morning raking up the dried grass/weeds, and then sowed 4 varieties of chile pepper, 2 varieties of tomato and some papaya seeds.
I don't think it depends on where they are planted....I took out 2 papaya trees recently, they came from seeds of a Hawaiian papaya I ate last year. Something I learned this year is they can be male, female, and depends on how or where they are planted, they can switch around their sex, too complicated for me.
From some of the youtube videos I’ve watched, if you plant it in the ground, it can be male, then you plant it in the container it then turns to female. Not consistent to me.I don't think it depends on where they are planted....
I just removed 2 males...
2 girls are staying and I am waiting to see what the other one is. You only know when they flower
(Both male and female plants flower, the flower stem is longer on the males)
Never heard of thatFrom some of the youtube videos I’ve watched, if you plant it in the ground, it can be male, then you plant it in the container it then turns to female. Not consistent to me.
Not really sure, actually, because they were seeds I'd taken from fresh tomatoes, at some stage, and just spread on a piece of kitchen towel! What tomatoes?
Does TastyReuben know that will grow into a 1/2 kilo flying frog that hunts at night by launching itself out of trees???Just found this little fellow in the dog bowl of water. There is now a brick in there to help him climb out. He's tiny!
