• I’ve added a casual chat room to CookingBites as a place for off-topic banter, light conversation, and short-lived chit-chat that doesn’t belong in forum threads. The chat room is informal and lightly-to-not moderated, with messages being temporary, so it’s ideal for friendly back-and-forth that would otherwise derail discussions. Site rules still apply, but there’s no reporting system or expectation of post-by-post moderation - if something becomes uncomfortable, the right response is to step away. If a topic has substance or lasting value, it still belongs in the forums; everything else can head to chat.

What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy (2026)?

The cutlery manufacturer I love (but don’t own any of) are doing free steak knives with certain cutlery sets, including the ones I preferred when I had 3 sets for a ‘cutlery trial’
They never have any sales to speak of but after years of being signed up to their emails and never being sent a single sale invite or voucher they sent a 15% off voucher.

It’s not exactly cheap but I’m a cutlery nerd and can’t abide bad cutlery. I’ve wanted Robert Welch cutlery since I got my first place at 22yrs old and it’s finally on its way.
The steak knives are £9.50 each, so 12 free ones in my book is a big win 😊

So the deluded collecting of things for a little place I don’t have in the IOM continues! 😂
👏👏👏

I have one of these. It's nonstick,& I don't hav to worry about it rusting. Also it comes with a glass cover to prevent the splattering of grease. :whistling:

It's too cold to BBQ and I want grill marks on chicken so I've just reacquired a Lodge brand skillet. I had to go to one town over! View attachment 139867
Yep, it's heavy... I've ordered a glass lid. Somehow grease splatter coming out of this isn't as bothersome as the splatter from the rest of my pans. 😀

Very beautiful tho. What size was it?

I've been looking at those recently thinking I *need* a cast-iron wok.

I’m ordering a new wok, carbon steel, I think I might get rid of the old one. But Paypal is not cooperating. Taking forever.
I also ordered a bakeware that we broke recently, only for replacement.
