What did you cook or eat today (April 2026)?

Hawker food again today - Hokkien Mee. It's like stir-fried mixed noodles in a seafood stock with pork and prawns and served with sambal chili (I had to ask for more as they gave such a tiny dollop initially!). Never visited this stall before and it was excellent so I'll definitely go again.

I had a look at the Wild Meat Co. website and just browsing around, game is not as expensive as I thought it would be - whole pheasants, woodcocks etc... quite reasonable I think.

They also have squirrels for sale at 5 quid. Might order a couple of those for some sandwiches next time I'm in the UK.
The squirrel that Ozzie got the other day weighed 4 oz of meat when dressed.

Saturday night was a German inspired meal. Pork tenderloin rubbed with ground caraway seeds, microplaned garlic, S&P, and some vegetable oil, then allowed to sit for a few hours. Then, baked with parboiled potatoes and some Recipe - Small batch sauerkraut .

Sunday night was pulled pork from the freezer and deviled egg macaroni salad.
