What did you cook or eat today? (December 2025)

Not Christmas yet here, but the youngest kid and my husband couldn’t wait to open the charcuterie and they had tomato soup with the charcuterie.

My daughter and I are having this Korean ramen noodles, it’s really good, a bit of kim chi in the soup makes a difference. In fact I got the idea from Instagram. I had leftover pork and leftover kim chi so I decided to try it.

Been quite industrious - baked up two types of cookies (from frozen dough I’d made a couple of months ago), made some pita chips for MrsT, cheese straws for later tonight, Yorkshire pudding batter for tomorrow, sprouts for tomorrow.

I have to make the sauce for the meatballs tonight, and tomorrow will just be the roast and the potatoes and baking off the yorkies.

Going over to my Mom's apartment this evening and we're taking this along as Supper for us three on Christmas Eve.

I also have a bottle of wine for Mom & I, DH is water all the way.
This will be the second year that I've done this: I take something real simple for Christmas Eve Supper with her in her apartment as a private, family celebration, exchange our gifts (I'll show y'all what I got Mom later), without loads of folks around us.
Private Family Time.

To be eaten tomorrow, but made today

Pears poached in red wine sauce, it will be served with Mascapone cheese or cream, looking forward to this, my favorite dessert

Pana cotta with rum in it, my glass is the short and fat one, everyone else gets the skinny version, lol.

I've a pear tree! 😋 Those look pretty good!!!

We’ve been munching all day:

Cheese straws…pita chips with dip…crackers and cheese dip…ham-and-cheese sandwiches…and we just finished some delicious Swedish meatballs - no lingonberry jam, so I used the closest thing we have…apple-cranberry butter (as in fruit spread, not dairy butter). It worked perfectly.

My wife made peanut butter fudge for the first time and from the looks of it so far - it does look good. BUT, you know what they say, looks can be decieving :) Am waiting for it to harden which should be in about half an hour I think ... looking forward to tasting it, even though I'm not a fan of peanut butter ....
