What did you cook or eat today? (December 2025)

Mid morning snack, cake, cheese, hot chocolate with a tot of rum

Looks like I a a lot better at doing steak over open fire than on the gas stove.
But rain...
And still very happy with my meal.
Cubed potatoes fried in pork fat
Rump steak fried in rendered beef fat (overcooked but still very tender)
"Gravy/jus" of pork stuff that was stuck to the bottom of the pan, red onion, garlic, a chili pepper, soaked dried cep and a dash of red wine

The shopping cart in the middle of the aisle happens at least once every time we shop, and usually several times. And, we always shop on a weekday, late morning, when most people are at work and not out running errands at lunchtime.

What really got me though about my incident was she was my age, probably a bit older, so not young and grew up when manners didn't matter, and/or wasn't on her phone yakking and oblivious to everything around her, just decided she was going to unload whether I was done or not.

Just to clarify ...
The whole quote appeared when I wanted a snippet, thought it posted without a comment, deleted the supposed empty post and went from there 😶
