What did you cook or eat today? (December 2025)

Going over to my Mom's apartment this evening and we're taking this along as Supper for us three on Christmas Eve.

I also have a bottle of wine for Mom & I, DH is water all the way.
This will be the second year that I've done this: I take something real simple for Christmas Eve Supper with her in her apartment as a private, family celebration, exchange our gifts (I'll show y'all what I got Mom later), without loads of folks around us.
Private Family Time.

Mom ate two plates filled with all of these goodies, a big handful of Cinnamon Sugared Cashews, two handmade Linzer Raspberry cookies from my Neighborhood Gal Pal, who's mom also lives in the same Senior Community as my Mom AND, wait for it ...
Drank TWO 8 ounce glasses of wine.
She had a great time this evening.

My wife made peanut butter fudge for the first time and from the looks of it so far - it does look good. BUT, you know what they say, looks can be decieving :) Am waiting for it to harden which should be in about half an hour I think ... looking forward to tasting it, even though I'm not a fan of peanut butter ....
Chocolate...

My favorite peanut butter fudge is called school cafeteria peanut butter fudge, because it used to be a common item in school cafeterias in the US back in the 1970’s.

It’s been “discovered” on TikTok and is called 2-ingredient peanut butter fudge these days - creamy peanut butter and vanilla cake frosting.

I’ve made it a few times, and it’s pretty spot-on for institutional fudge.

They are the lovely chewy centre. Sticky and sweet with a slightly toffee chewy centre.
