Porkie pie (the remaining half) with Haywards piccalilli and my own "Bite Back" pickled onions.


On my laptop screen I see the colouring as I see it in my kitchen.

We used to get haywards chow and piccalilli, but it's now cerebos, they must have sold out?? I get through a jar every two weeks.
Poe looks very good too.

I add a little more chicken stock towards the end as I like things with a little more sauce, i also add some hot sauce, just add to taste.

Pretty good recipe! Paprika isn't commonly used for Mexican, but it is a perfectly fine substitute for chili powder. Where it says "sub red kidney beans," I'd change that to pinto beans. Black beans or pinto beans. :okay:

tonight was scallops - seared in a smoking hot CI.
I neglected to turn on the exhaust hood and set off the smoke alarms - what a hoot.
they're all wired together - so it's like nine of them going off....

I only have 3 alarms, one is super sensitive, went off only last week. I look like a race car starter waving tea towel at it.
Btw I have scallops in the freezer, but none in my family like them.

I don't have a smoke alarm anywhere near my kitchen. And, I love scallops!
