What did you cook or eat today (June 2025)?

I had one of those from Walmart, $10, and it's sole purpose was to make waffles that fit in the toaster. I used it until it broke. I don't have room for waffles in the freezer so mute to replace.
Yeah, I don't freeze them, either. What I will do is make a big batch and we eat half and the rest go into the refrigerator into containers, then just pull them out for the next few days and toast them for a quick breakfast. I actually don't own a toaster, I have a toaster oven (I think you have seen me post about it) that's also an air fryer, deydrator, rotisserie, etc.--it's the Emeril 9-1. But at any rate, my freezer space is expensive real estate that is dedicated mostly to meat and seafood.

Also moot to replace given that you have the Cuisinart waffle maker, why have two waffle makers? If 1 is too big just cut it in half, right?

I used to have one of those multifunction toaster ovens too but when that U-Haul got to small that left. All good though, I've managed with appliances that take up less space. I try not to eat waffle/"carb things" in the morning anymore. Not having a job to go to puts the scale in the wrong direction. 😨

Oh, I understand perfectly. It's all your fault I started making yeasted waffles anyway.

Oh boy, but you would laugh at my waffle maker. It's a mini-waffle iron and it's as basic as it gets, but it works just fine. I paid $8 for it, some no-name brand from Amazon.

I had a waffle with strawberries, honey, butter, and maple syrup at around 4 am before going to bed, LOL.
I think I have the same unit.

Leftover waffles go in toaster to reheat.

DD and I went to Cracker Barrel for early dinner.
What did you get? They used to have good chicken and dumplings.

Last time we went to Birmingham, Alabama we ate at one I got fried bone-in chicken. You'd think that a restaurant in the south USA would be able to cook southern fried chicken properly. Nope.

Chicken fried steak, corn, and greens please! Side of mash too.
Bob Evans (not sure if they have that in Georgia) has good chicken fried steak. When done properly, it's so good.

I bought some mustard greens yesterday. I'll probably cook some tomorrow.

tonight is keesch and krosawnd . . .

Grits, fried apples, country ham, biscuit and to-go fried chicken. Peach iced tea.
