What did you cook or eat today (March 2026)

Chicken with Red Grapes & Marsala

I cooked 7.5 kgs of chicken tandoori this morning, and then made 1½ kgs of kachumbar - a red onion and tomato salad with mint, coriander, fresh chiles and lime juice. An Indian version of a pico de gallo, I suppose.
Tomorrow I've got hauled into an event called 24 Arepas. (Arepas are a Venezuelan staple, made with ground cornmeal).
I had to deliver all the cooked ingredients today, because tomorrow, the event starts at 7am and it's right across the other side of the city.
I'll send the pictures in a bit.

Its near impossible to find here. Is it easily available in Italy? I think I only ate it once, in France. I think its quite a mild fish, like trout?

Yes it’s easily available here, very common in Northern Italy thanks to the major lakes like Maggiore/Como/Garda. More delicate than trout and less fatty than salmon, is very flavourful despite being a lake fish - usually they are less flavourful.

Perch is difficult to get hold of in the UK unless you know a freshwater angler. It's a great fish and wish it was more readily available

Yes it’s a great fish and I am going to buy it more often. In Northern Italy is very common as we have the major lakes and lots of rivers

I’d been thinking about making this particular bruschetta for a while. So I let the strawberries marinate for about an hour (though less time would probably have been enough) in extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, white pepper, sage, and rosemary. I toasted a slice of bread, spread some Greek yogurt on it, and assembled the bruschetta with the strawberries cut into rounds.
