What did you cook or eat today (May 2025)?

Made 2 1/2 cups of overnight bone broth with celery, onions, garlic, and pepper. Trying to cut back on salt so the other day picked up several Ms Dash brand seasonings and used the table blend.

Tonight was a “I can’t be bothered to think too much about things” meal:

Sautéed cabbage and onions, boiled up some egg noodles in broth and added those to the cabbage, cut up a knockwurst and tossed that in there…and threw in some Muenster cheese for good measure.
 
A bit of food to take up to my stressed out dissertation writing son.
Did a boatload of meatballs in tomato sauce and then made it three ways -

Pretty much as they are (supplied with ready to nuke mash cos theres no way he will be cooking pasta).

Made the tastiest dairy free creamy garlic mushroom sauce I’ve ever made. I ate spoonful after spoonful, until suddenly I’d used every soup spoon we have ‘taste testing’ it 😂
So here’s a boring pic of a mushroom sauce that made me happy.

I wasn’t happy however that we ran out of gas so I had stop and set up the hob plate outside and decant everything I was cooking into induction friendly pots which my main kitchen pots are not.
Mr SSOAP is being very quiet on that front 😂


Halved the little meatballs and made Meatball and Garlic Mushroom Lasagne

And lastly Chilli Meatball Pasta salad with peppers, carrots and radish. It is beautifully vibrant.
